Frequently asked questions

What services does a Chartered Accountant provide?

A Chartered Accountant looks after the financial and statutory side of a business: maintaining books of account, preparing and finalising financial statements, income tax and GST compliance, audits where the law requires them, TDS and payroll compliance, and advisory on structure, budgeting, controls and reporting. Individual CAs and firms differ in emphasis — some focus on audit, others on tax or advisory. This firm covers the full range and adds accounting technology and software development.

What does a CA firm do for a small business?

For most small businesses the work comes down to three things: keep the books accurate and current, meet every filing obligation on time, and turn the numbers into something the owner can use. In practice that means monthly bookkeeping and reconciliation, GST and TDS compliance, the annual income tax return, audit where applicable, and a short management report showing margins, receivables and cash position. See accounting & bookkeeping.

How can a CA help with GST?

Registration, monthly and quarterly returns, input tax credit reconciliation, annual compliance where applicable, replies to notices, and advisory on classification, place of supply and documentation. Just as importantly, a CA can trace why the same errors keep recurring — usually a process or software configuration issue — and fix that rather than only correcting the return. See GST services.

What is outsourced accounting?

Outsourced accounting means an external professional team runs your books, reconciliations, payables, receivables and reporting instead of an in-house accountant. You get professional review and continuity — the work does not stop when one person resigns — at a predictable cost. We run these engagements on cloud systems so you retain full visibility of your own data at all times.

Can accounting be fully outsourced?

Yes, for most small and medium businesses the entire accounting function can be outsourced, from recording transactions through to finalisation and MIS. What cannot be outsourced is ownership: approving payments, authorising credit and reviewing the monthly report remain with you. Larger organisations more often outsource selected parts, such as payables processing or reconciliations, and keep the rest in-house.

Why use Zoho Books for business accounting?

Zoho Books is cloud accounting software designed with Indian GST requirements in mind, covering invoicing, banking, payables, expenses and reporting in one place. It suits businesses that want their accounts current rather than reconstructed at year end, and it lets your accountant and your team work on the same data. We handle setup, chart of accounts design, migration, tax configuration, training and ongoing bookkeeping. See Zoho Books accounting.

How can a CA help a startup?

Early decisions are expensive to undo: the entity structure, how founders and early employees hold equity, how revenue is recognised, and whether books are set up so an investor can read them. A CA helps with incorporation and registrations, monthly compliance, payroll and TDS, and reporting that stands up to diligence later. See startup services.

What is CFO advisory?

CFO advisory — often called virtual or fractional CFO — gives a business senior financial leadership without a full-time hire: cash flow planning, budgeting and forecasting, pricing and margin analysis, management reporting, internal controls, and support during fundraising or lender discussions. It suits businesses that have outgrown bookkeeping but cannot yet justify a full-time CFO. See virtual CFO services.

Can custom software be developed for a business?

Yes. Our technology team builds web, desktop and mobile applications to a client's requirements — client portals, internal business systems, dashboards, workflow tools and integrations with accounting systems. Because the same firm understands the accounting, the application is designed around how the finance function actually works. See technology & applications.

What accounting training is available?

We run practical training in accounting and bookkeeping, GST and tax compliance, Zoho Books and other accounting software, and business finance fundamentals — for individuals, for in-house finance teams and as customised corporate programmes. Current course details, duration, fees and batch dates are listed on the training page.

How are fees decided?

Fees depend on scope, volume and complexity, and are agreed in writing before work starts. Recurring engagements such as bookkeeping or compliance are usually quoted monthly or annually; one-off work such as a migration, an audit or a software build is quoted against a defined scope. We would rather discuss the scope properly than quote a number that has to be revised later.

Do you work with clients in other cities?

Yes. Bookkeeping, compliance, MIS, advisory and software work are delivered on cloud systems with scheduled calls and secure document sharing. Where an engagement genuinely requires physical presence, that is agreed as part of the scope.
