Taxation

Taxation services

Compliance handled on time, positions documented properly, and advice that distinguishes what the law permits from what merely sounds attractive.

Tax work divides into three things: filing what is due, deciding positions where the law allows a choice, and defending those positions if they are questioned. We do all three, and we keep the reasoning on file so a query two years later can be answered from the record rather than from memory.

We do not promise tax savings. What we do is apply the law as it stands to your facts, point out the options available, explain the risk attaching to each, and let you decide with the position documented.

Deadlines are managed against a compliance calendar shared with you at the start of the year, so advance tax, TDS returns and filing dates are not a surprise.

How we work

Working with us on this

How an engagement runs at Vanesh Nadar & Co. Four stages: review of the current position, a written scope and fee, execution to an agreed calendar, then review to stop problems recurring. STEP 1 Review We look at your records, filings, registrations and any open notices, and tell you plainly where things stand. STEP 2 Scope & fees A written scope: deliverables, timelines, what we need from you and the fee — agreed before any work starts. STEP 3 Execute Work carried out to an agreed calendar, with a named point of contact and documented handovers. STEP 4 Review & improve Recurring issues are traced back to the process that caused them, so the same problem does not return next quarter.

Every engagement runs through the same four stages. Nothing begins until the scope and the fee are agreed in writing, and the fourth stage exists so that a problem found this quarter does not simply reappear in the next one.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a CA guarantee lower tax?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise. What a CA can do is ensure you claim every deduction and exemption you are legally entitled to, structure transactions efficiently within the law, avoid penalties from late or incorrect filing, and document positions so they hold up if examined.

We received an income tax notice. What should we do first?

Note the section quoted and the response deadline — those two details determine everything that follows. Do not respond on a partial understanding. Send us the notice along with the return and computation for the relevant year, and we will tell you what is being asked and what supporting documents will be needed.

Do you handle both business and personal tax matters?

Yes. For owner-managed businesses the two are usually connected — salary, dividends, loans from the company, property and capital gains all interact — and we look at them together rather than in isolation.

How is tax planning different from tax avoidance?

Tax planning arranges genuine transactions to use provisions the law provides. Arrangements created purely to obtain a tax benefit without commercial substance carry real risk, including anti-avoidance scrutiny. We work firmly on the first side of that line and will tell you when a proposal falls on the other.
